Baseball Recap: Oxford Takes a Loss

Oxford has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.29 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 16-1 to the Little River Redskins. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Redskins this season, with their most recent loss being a 13-1 defeat on Monday.

Oxford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Ruyle, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

Oxford's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Little River, the win keeps they at an undefeated 15-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Redskins beat Oxford by a score of 13-1 later that day.
