Softball Recap: Harrison Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Harrison ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Hendrick Hudson Sailors 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since April 26, 2024.

BarBara Jo Coppola was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Vasti, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Harrison's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs. As for Hendrick Hudson, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison will venture away from home to face off against Pearl River at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hendrick Hudson, they will head out to square off against Somers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
