Basketball Recap: Dematha Skates Past West Catholic with Ease

The DeMatha Stags humbled the West Catholic Burrs with a 74-47 victory. The game marked the Stags' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Ashton (Ace) Meeks had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 71% from the field to rack up 25 points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 46.2% field goal percentage. Jared Jeffers was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

DeMatha smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

DeMatha's record is now 3-1. As for West Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, DeMatha will welcome Sidwell Friends at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Catholic, they will face off against Bergen Catholic on Sunday.
