Basketball Recap: Ashton Uballe's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Blanco over Brady

If Blanco was riding high fresh off their 57-20 takedown of Comfort last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blanco Panthers took a 51-36 bruising from the Brady Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashton Uballe, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Uballe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carleigh Dotson, who had two points in addition to nine boards and seven steals.

Even though they lost, Blanco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Blanco's defeat dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Brady, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-19 record this season.

Blanco has already played their next contest (against Florence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Brady will square off against Ingram Moore at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Ingram Moore's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Brady's offense will have their work cut out for them.
