Baseball Recap: Woodsboro Comes Up Short

After flying high against Skidmore-Tynan last Friday, Woodsboro came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 18-3 to the Kenedy Lions on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost eight in a row.

Cole Thompson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Woodsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Kenedy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Woodsboro is set to challenge their familiar foe Refugio at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kenedy will square off against rival Pettus at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
