Softball Recap: Ten Straight Road Wins for Bravo

Bravo came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Franklin Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hazel Medrano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

On the hitting side, Jocelyn Cordova was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Avila, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Bravo pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bravo is set to face off against their familiar foe Eagle Rock at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Franklin will square off against rival Marshall at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
