Basketball Recap: Windsor Locks Takes a Loss

Windsor Locks lost against Rockville back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Windsor Locks Raiders fell to the Rockville Rams 76-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), the Raiders still had to take the loss.

Loss or not, Windsor Locks got some senior leadership from Sincere Monroe and Jack Grasso. Monroe went 14-for-31 to rack up 32 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals, while Grasso went 9-for-17 on his way to 23 points and six boards. The contest was Grasso's third in a row with at least 15 points. JJ Mournighan was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Rockville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darek Albert led the charge by going 7-for-14 en route to 26 points and six rebounds. Albert is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Thomas Bannon, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 20 boards.

Windsor Locks has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Rockville, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Windsor Locks has already played their next game, a 57-42 victory against Somers on the 13th. As for Rockville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-41 defeat against Suffield on the 11th.
