Basketball Recap: Barberton Comes Up Short

Barberton played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Jackson Polar Bears and fell 91-53. The loss continues a trend for the Magics in their matchups with the Polar Bears: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the defeat, Barberton had strong showings from Vernon Reynolds, who posted 22 points, and De'Arion Holley, who went 9 for 18 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds. Those 22 points gave Reynolds a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joey Ondo, who had four points and seven boards.

Barberton's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Jackson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Barberton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-59 defeat against Cuyahoga Falls on the 31st. As for Jackson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 83-69 victory against GlenOak on the 31st.
