Calhoun posted their closest victory since May 16, 2025 on Friday. They skirted past the Gillespie Miners 6-5. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Anabel Eilerman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matte Grasle, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Longnecker, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Calhoun now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Gillespie, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 23-10 record.

Calhoun does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gillespie, they will take on Litchfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Purple Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Miners surely won't give up without a fight.
