Volleyball Recap: Carl Hayden Community Victorious

Carl Hayden Community lost to Washington back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Falcons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rams, sneaking past 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Carl Hayden Community took Washington into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-12, 25-17, 23-25, 15-8.

Aymar Penuelas paced Carl Hayden Community's offense, picking up 12 kills. Penuelas got some help from Marlene Lopez and her 17 assists. Lopez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with ten aces.

Carl Hayden Community now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Washington, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2.

Carl Hayden Community has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Copper Canyon on the 10th. As for Washington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Maryvale on the 10th.
