Baseball Recap: Bellevue Redmen vs. Willard Crimson Flashes

Bellevue couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. Their rough 7-1 loss to the Willard Crimson Flashes on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Bellevue was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Willard apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

For Willard's part, Isaac Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Ethan Rodriguez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Potts, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The win got Willard back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellevue will square off against Eastwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Willard, they will head out on the road to face off against Crestview at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
