Softball Game Preview: Nature Coast Tech Sharks vs. Springstead Eagles

The Nature Coast Tech Sharks will head out on the road to face off against the Springstead Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nature Coast Tech will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Nature Coast Tech had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Zephyrhills on Thursday. Nature Coast Tech put the hurt on Zephyrhills with a sharp 14-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Sharks, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Springstead had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

Springstead's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Nature Coast Tech, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Nature Coast Tech might still be hurting after the 16-5 defeat they got from Springstead in their previous meeting back in February. Can Nature Coast Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
