Baseball Recap: Canton Comes Up Short

Canton fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Van on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Vandals by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.

Canton has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.25 runs. As for Van, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 25-6-1.

While Canton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
