Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Taft

It's playoff time, and Taft had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Kings Christian Crusaders by a score of 58-46 on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on four straight.

Ernie Laulu was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-18 on his way to 27 points and five boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Josh Cundiff was another key player, going 6-for-8 to rack up 13 points.

Taft smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Taft's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-12. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Kings Christian, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-6.

Taft has already played their next match, a 65-58 loss against Chowchilla on the 21st. Kings Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
