Softball Recap: Wortham Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Wortham's offense. They came up short against the Frankston Indians on Tuesday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Katelynn Spain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Wortham dropped their record down to 6-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Frankston, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

While Wortham had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
