Baseball Recap: Amarillo Takes a Loss

Amarillo has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.27 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates, falling 11-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Sandies have suffered since February 27th.

This is the second loss in a row for Amarillo and nudges their season record down to 20-9-1. As for Lubbock-Cooper, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 22 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-10 record this season.

While Amarillo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
