Softball Recap: Stryker Panthers vs. Pettisville Blackbirds
Stryker had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-6 to make it six. They lost 24-3 to the Pettisville Blackbirds. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 5-3 to the Blackbirds when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Kayla Fultz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
As for Pettisville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.5 runs.
On Pettisville's side, Macy Hoylman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hoylman has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. As for Pettisville, they will be playing at home against Edon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bombers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
