Softball Recap: Minico Takes a Loss

If Minico was feeling good fresh off their 16-0 takedown of Columbia last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Minico Spartans came up short against the Kimberly Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 14-1. The Spartans have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Minico saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nye Salinas, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Salinas is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Minico fell to 2-1. As for Kimberly, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kimberly beat Minico by a score of 14-0 later that day.
