Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Carmel). They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Valley Center Jaguars on Wednesday. The Sundevils have beaten the Jaguars the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Jaguars has come to flipping the script.

Riley Ronald made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kaili Martha was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordan Grimaud, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

Mt. Carmel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mt. Carmel's record is now 13-9. As for Valley Center, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-16.

Mt. Carmel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-3 win against Fallbrook on the 9th. As for Valley Center, they have also already played their next game, a 14-4 defeat against Ramona on the 9th.
