After a string of seven wins, Marietta's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Pace Academy Knights. The shutout was out of character for the Blue Devils seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.
Payton Canty paced Marietta's offense, picking up ten kills. Canty got some help from Chloe Herrero and her ten assists. Caroline Rodriguez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Marietta's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Pace Academy, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 27-7.
Marietta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pace Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Pope on the 4th.
