Softball Recap: Pembroke Pines Charter Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Pembroke Pines Charter and Western had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Jaguars took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 14-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Pembroke Pines Charter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriela Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Pembroke Pines Charter's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Western, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3-1 record this season.

Pembroke Pines Charter will host Coral Springs Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Western, they will venture away from home to square off against West Broward at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
