Baseball Recap: Southington Takes Down Ranked Hall

Southington faced Hall in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Blue Knights came out on top against the Titans by a score of 6-2. This was a revenge game for the Blue Knights: when they faced off against the Titans two weeks ago, they had to take a 11-6 loss.

Aiden DeGrandis looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brycen Voisine, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colin LaRosa, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Southington is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Hall, they moved to 15-6 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
