At the plate, Ryder McCauley was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Boylan Catholic: the team is 8-3 when he posts at least two runs, but 10-11-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Berg, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Rockford Auburn's offense. They lost 15-0 to Hononegah on Monday.
Boylan Catholic's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-14-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Rockford Auburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-21.
Rockford Auburn's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Boylan Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game.
