Soccer Recap: Casteel Takes Down Ranked Highland

On Saturday, Casteel faced Highland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Casteel Colts had just enough and edged the Highland Hawks out 1-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 back in December of 2024.

Casteel's one-goal win came courtesy of Tatum Gardner, who's now up to ten this season.

The victory (which was Casteel's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Highland, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

Casteel has already played their next contest, a 6-0 win against Higley on the 8th. As for Highland, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Chaparral on the 8th.
