Soccer Game Preview: Spackenkill vs. Pine Bush

The Spackenkill Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Pine Bush Bushmen at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Spackenkill had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the eight-goal drubbing they dealt Dover on Friday. The Spartans never let the Dragons get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Spackenkill's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Dover are ranked 224th).

Spackenkill's offense was hitting Dover from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Amalia Parsons led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Pine Bush waltzed into their matchup on Sunday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Spartans 3-0.

Spackenkill's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Pine Bush, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Spackenkill suffered a grim 6-2 defeat to Pine Bush in their previous matchup back in October of 2023. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
