Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Darin Detvongsa and Kayden Stark Lead Kearns to Victory

Kearns's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Tooele Buffaloes 72-49. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 51.5 points per game.

Kearns was led to victory by Kayden Stark and Darin Detvongsa. Stark went 7 for 9 on his way to 16 points and six steals, while Detvongsa went 8 of 12 on his way to 19 points and four steals. Detvongsa is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Pentico, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Kearns smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

With the win, Kearns broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Tooele, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Kearns will host East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season. As for Tooele, they will be taking part in a tournament against Crimson Cliffs at 5:15 p.m. on December 27th.
