Football Recap: Erie Falls Short of Valor Christian in the Playoffs

Erie and Valor Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Erie had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Eagles and fell 70-28. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.

Although Erie took the loss, they still got scores from Jack Arnold, Owen Collard, Parker Pruett, and Wyatt Walston.

Valor Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Titus Huard led the charge by throwing for 309 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.4 yards per attempt, and also punching in a pair of scores on the ground. Those 309 passing yards gave Huard a new career-high. Chase Hanosh was another key rusher, rushing for 167 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries.

Erie's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Valor Christian, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Erie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valor Christian, they will challenge Legend at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine matchups.
