Basketball Game Preview: Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas vs. St. Xavier Tigers

The Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas and the St. Xavier Tigers will round out the year against one another at at 8:55 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Georgetown Prep humbled Our Lady of Good Counsel with an 84-54 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Little Hoyas.

Georgetown Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Patrick Mcdonough out in front who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Mcdonough has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Akbar Waheed was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, St. Xavier put another one in the bag on Sunday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Bryant as St. Xavier made off with a 76-50 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 26 points or more this season.

Georgetown Prep's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.8 points per game. As for St. Xavier, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
