Baseball Recap: Wyoming Seminary College Prep Comes Up Short

If Wyoming Seminary College Prep was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Hanover Area on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Knights fell 5-2 to the Lake-Lehman Knights on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

Leo Nockley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. Derek Saltz also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Wyoming Seminary College Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lake-Lehman, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wyoming Seminary College Prep will square off against Tunkhannock at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Knights are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Lake-Lehman, they will take on Hanover Area at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawkeyes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.69 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
