Softball Recap: Amity Comes Up Short

Amity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-17 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vernonia Loggers.

Amity's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Vernonia, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Amity will take on Santiam Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Vernonia, they will challenge Blanchet Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
