Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Benton Central). Everything went their way against the Fountain Central Mustangs on Monday as they made off with a 16-6 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bison needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Kamron Rider looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Benton Central let Kaydric Tyson and Spencer Flook run wild. Tyson went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Flook went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two RBI gave Tyson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Fox, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Benton Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Benton Central's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Fountain Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benton Central will head out to face off against West Lafayette at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fountain Central, they will venture away from home to take on Covington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
