Dominion Christian suffers third straight loss at home

The Dominion Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Christ Chapel Academy 56-23. Dominion Christian has not had much luck with Christ Chapel Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Christ Chapel Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maya Brantley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 steals. Those 12 steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Dasia Smith, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five steals.

Dominion Christian's loss was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.7 points per game. As for Christ Chapel Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Dominion Christian will look to defend their home court on January 12th against Fairfax HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. Christ Chapel Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Saint John Paul the Great Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
