Recap: Lakeland Regional Lancers vs. Pequannock Golden Panthers
The Lakeland Regional Lancers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 14-7 victory over Pequannock on Friday. This was payback for Lakeland Regional, who suffered a 28-14 loss the last time these two teams met.
Lakeland Regional's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Collin Sabric, who threw for 100 yards and a touchdown while completing 84.6% of his passes. Jeremy O'hernandez and his 85 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Lakeland Regional's win.
Despite the loss, Pequannock saw an underclassman step up: Dylan Roemmele rushed for 123 yards on only 15 carries. Roemmele was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards.
Lakeland Regional is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Pequannock, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.
Lakeland Regional will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Caldwell. Caldwell is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Pequannock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
