Baseball Recap: Syracuse Takes a Loss

Syracuse's last matchup with Lehi could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Saturday. The Syracuse Titans came up short against the Lehi Pioneers, falling 14-1. The Titans' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row dating back to last season.

Syracuse saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dom Johnatakis, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Those two hits gave Johnatakis a new career-high.

Syracuse's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lehi, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coming up, Syracuse will take on Spanish Fork in a tournament on Saturday. Syracuse is facing Spanish Fork at the right time seeing as Spanish Fork is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Lehi, they will head out on the road to challenge Maple Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
