Football Game Preview: Richfield Wildcats vs. Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle

The Richfield Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richfield is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Richfield had taken Canyon View down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Wildcats received a blow as they fell 31-14 to the Falcons.

Richfield might have lost, but man, Trey Yardley was a machine: he rushed for 132 yards on only 13 carries. Yardley's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Cord White was in the mix as well, providing Richfield with two scores.

Meanwhile, Juan Diego Catholic played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Murray 55-20. The Soaring Eagle were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.

Juan Diego Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Richfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Richfield was able to grind out a solid win over Juan Diego Catholic when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 34-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
