Moapa Valley came into Monday's contest looking for another win against Somerset Academy Losee, but David Salgado wouldn't allow it. Somerset Academy Losee came out on top in a nail-biter against Moapa Valley on Monday, sneaking past 3-2 thanks in part to Salgado, who had 19 digs and two aces. That's the most digs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Somerset Academy Losee wouldn't go down easily and took Moapa Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 21-25, 23-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Moapa Valley still got an impressive performance from Spencer Stolworthy, who had 42 assists and 12 digs. Stolworthy is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 26 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Bunker, who had 16 digs.

The win got Somerset Academy Losee back to even at 6-6. As for Moapa Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Somerset Academy Losee Lions take on Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Moapa Valley, they will host Virgin Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Virgin Valley will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Moapa Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
