Flag Football Game Preview: Casteel Colts vs. Basha Bears + Official Tickets

Casteel is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Monday. They will face off against the Basha Bears at 6:00 p.m. Casteel's defense has only allowed 14.1 points per game this season, so Basha's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, Casteel earned a 14-7 victory over Higley.

Casteel found their leader in sophomore Skylar Choy, who threw for 155 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.2% of her passes, and also rushed for 58 yards on only seven carries.

Meanwhile, Basha entered their tilt with Dobson on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 39-0 win over the Mustangs. The Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Basha's win came from a few key players Casteel will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amiah Walker, who threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of her passes, and also punched in one rushing score. That's the most passing yards she has posted since back in November of 2024. Victoria Beakes was another key player, gaining 111 total yards and two touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Basha's defense and their seven sacks. Dobson's QB won't forget Cherish Jones anytime soon given she sacked her five times.

Casteel now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Basha, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.

Casteel couldn't quite get it done against Basha in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 as they fell 27-14. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
