Baseball Recap: Arroyo Has No Trouble Against Edgewood

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Arroyo had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Edgewood Lions. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Richard Inostroz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Antuna, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gio Perez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Arroyo's win bumped their record up to 13-10-1. As for Edgewood, they moved to 14-9 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coming up, Arroyo will face off against Valencia at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. Edgewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
