Football Game Preview: South Umpqua Lancers vs. Coquille Red Devils + How To Watch

South Umpqua has gone a perfect 3-0 against Coquille recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lancers will host the Red Devils at 7:00 p.m.

South Umpqua is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Siuslaw on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lancers had to suffer through a 48-13 loss at the hands of the Vikings. The Lancers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Coquille, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 34-14 margin over Brookings-Harbor on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Red Devils needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Coquille pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average over those games. As for South Umpqua, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-2.

South Umpqua took their victory against Coquille in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 31-7 score. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
