Baseball Recap: Canyon View Find Success

Canyon View posted their closest victory since April 18, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Mountain View Cougars 9-8.

Parker Mattison looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eli McBryde, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rece Landis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Canyon View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Canyon View's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Mountain View, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Canyon View will face off against Thurston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mountain View, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Mountain View Cougars challenge Wilsonville Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
