Basketball Recap: San Antonio Christian Takes a Loss

San Antonio Christian played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 58-29 defeat at the hands of the St. Anthony Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 896th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 233rd).

Drew Cristan went supernova for St. Anthony, going 9 for 11 on his way to 22 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emiliano Henderson, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

San Antonio Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for St. Anthony, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

San Antonio Christian and The Christian School at Castle Hills will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on December 30th. As for St. Anthony, they and Holy Cross will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Holy Cross' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
