On Friday, The Pilgrim Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Cape May County Tech. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Hawks 60-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pioneers have posted since February 9, 2024.

It was another big night for Mason Parmer, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards. What's more, he posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jared McGonagle, who put up 13 points and five rebounds.
The Pilgrim Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Calvary Academy played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through an 87-47 loss at the hands of King's Christian. The Warrior were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-30.
The Pilgrim Academy will need to focus on slowing down Kieran Riccobono, one of several Calvary Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He to rack up 17 points and five assists. Riccobono continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Shawn Fraumeni was another key player, en route to 12 points.
The Pilgrim Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Calvary Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-10.
Everything came up roses for The Pilgrim Academy against Calvary Academy in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 61-24 win. Does The Pilgrim Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Calvary Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
