Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Huntley

Central has won three straight games at home, while Huntley has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Rockets will welcome the Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Huntley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Central, who comes in off a win.

If Central beats Huntley with two goals on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Rockets won by a goal and slipped past Geneva 2-1.

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Huntley was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They fell just short of Hononegah by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Huntley came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Hononegah are ranked 113th).

Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those eight games. Having lost for the first time this season, Huntley fell to 14-1-3.
