Baseball Recap: MacArthur Brahmas vs. Sotomayor WILDCATS

If MacArthur was riding high fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Burbank on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The MacArthur Brahmas fell 6-3 to the Sotomayor WILDCATS on Saturday.
Andrew Moneer was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Moneer was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.
Moneer wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was J.T. Gray, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Even though they lost, MacArthur hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive matches.
MacArthur has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. Sotomayor's win bumped their record up to 4-2-1.
Looking ahead, MacArthur will take on Southwest Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sotomayor, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the WILDCATS challenge the Panthers at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. O'Connor's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Sotomayor's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
