Softball Game Preview: San Fernando Tigers vs. Chatsworth Chancellors

The San Fernando Tigers will take on the Chatsworth Chancellors at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. San Fernando will be strutting in after a win while Chatsworth will be coming in after a defeat.

San Fernando is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Wilson get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Chatsworth came up short against Garfield on Saturday and fell 10-7.

K Rodriguez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jazzlyn Melara, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Chatsworth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

San Fernando's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7. As for Chatsworth, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything went San Fernando's way against Chatsworth in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, as San Fernando made off with a 21-7 win. Will San Fernando repeat their success, or does Chatsworth has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
