Softball Game Preview: Bishop Brady Giants vs. White Mountains Spartans

The Bishop Brady Giants will challenge the White Mountains Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. White Mountains took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bishop Brady, who comes in off a win.

Four must be Bishop Brady's lucky number: they beat Gilford with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Giants beat the Golden Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-1. The win was familiar territory for the Giants, who have now won three contests in a row.

Payton Bryson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bishop Brady saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Archambault, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for White Mountains' offense. They lost 12-0 to Gilford on Friday. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Golden Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

White Mountains' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bishop Brady, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2-1.

Everything went Bishop Brady's way against White Mountains in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Bishop Brady made off with a 20-0 win. Will the Giants repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
