Preview: Waterville vs. Madison/Carrabec
Waterville may have come out ahead in their last contest, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will look to defend their home turf on Saturday against Madison/Carrabec at 1:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Waterville, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Waterville had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They took their game against Belfast last Friday by a conclusive 45-12 score.
Meanwhile, Madison/Carrabec faced Wells in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Madison/Carrabec suffered a grim 0-32 defeat to Wells.
Waterville's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Madison/Carrabec's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Waterville's success rolls on or if Madison/Carrabec are able to steal their positive momentum.
