Basketball Recap: Charles J. Colgan Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ari Leonard and Gabrielle Cherry

Charles J. Colgan lost against Freedom last Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Charles J. Colgan Sharks took a hard 49-34 fall against the Freedom Eagles. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Charles J. Colgan's loss came despite strong showings from Gabrielle Cherry and Ari Leonard. Cherry posted five points and five boards, while Leonard earned seven points.

It was another big night for Keilani Johnson, who put up nine points in addition to eight assists and three steals for Freedom. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last ten games she's played. Savannah Price was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Charles J. Colgan's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Freedom, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Charles J. Colgan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-47 loss against Potomac Senior on the 4th. As for Freedom, they have also already played their next contest, a 49-4 victory against Gar-Field on the 4th.
