Preview: Claiborne vs. Union County
On Friday Claiborne take on Union County at 7:30 PM. Claiborne is expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
While not quite a landslide, the contest between Claiborne and West Greene last Thursday was still a pretty decisive one as Claiborne wrapped it up with a 34-19 victory. No one had a better game by the numbers than sophomore Eli Stone, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 165 yards on the ground and accumulated 108 passing yards.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Union County lost to Greeneville, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 0-69. Union County were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-49.
Claiborne's win lifted them to 1-2 while Union County's loss dropped them down to 1-2. We'll find out if Claiborne can add another positive mark to their record or if Union County can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Claiborne's step.
