Baseball Recap: Winchendon Wins Going Away Against Mount St. Charles Academy

While Winchendon put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Mount St. Charles Academy. The Wapiti blew past the Mounties 22-0. The game marked the Wapiti's most dominant victory of the season so far.

Ryan Ruggiero was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Sladen Johnson was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Winchendon and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Mount St. Charles Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winchendon will square off against Putnam Science Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount St. Charles Academy, they will challenge Deerfield Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
